Last Owner Since 1975 And Has Never Been On The Road Since Then!! Original Riverside Red On Red Car With A 327 And A 4-Speed Solid Original Frame With Its Original Front End With All Bonding Strips Stock # 280: $ 32,500 Rare find 63 split window project car. Partial restoration started with the stripping of the paint. Doors fit excellent along with a 65-67 hood that also fits nicely. All headlights and the motors intact, along with the windshield trim and interior. It still has its original 63 seats and 63 gauges, console, glove box door and a very nice dash assembly that has just been freshly redyed and is in excellent condition. All of the interior trim is still inside the car. The engine in the car is a correct 870 block but is from a 1964 model. The transmission is still original with the vin still stamped on the side. It is a T-10 Borg Warner, 4-speed. Very early 63 corvettes had T-10 and the headlight buckets are still the original early fiberglass ones as to the late cars were pot metal. The bumpers are included with the car but the left rear is missing. Mostly complete but the items missing include: Clock & Radio, Grill Assembly, Rocker Moldings, Split Rear Window Stainless Trim & the Left Rear Bumper. A nice set of original 63 hubcaps are on the car mounted on welded steel wheels and new white wall radial tires P205/75R15. There is minor damage to the left rear quarter panel and tail light panel due to moving on and off a trailer. We do however have a brand new GM N.O.S. rear left quarter and tail light panel included with the car. This would make an excellent project for an original restoration or driver style car. UPDATE: Restoration has been started as of June 1st, 2009. The body has been stripped to bare fiberglass using a new process called Soda Blasting. Soda Blasting is the ultimate way to strip a fiberglass car without even harming the glass, trim or bumpers. This process does not harm the fiberglass. As you can see in the photos, the original bonding strips where the factory put these bodies together. We are installing the new NOS GM quarter panel along with the tail light panel and it will be in primer ready to paint shortly. The car will be priced accordingly while the restoration is in process. |

Engineer verifying that the car was a proving grounds test vehicle and driven by Zora Duntov! The original proving grounds sticker is still on the rear window. Recent professional repaint in Monza Red by Redline Finishes. The body was stripped of its original paint and photos were taken of its unhit perfect original body. The paint job alone was over $13,000 two years ago. Most of the mechanics were rebuilt, including a-arm bushings, transmission, engine, etc. The engine pictures show a different intake manifold and carburetor; however we still have those parts including the original alternator, distributor and air cleaner. The car does have a complete spare, jack, owners manual, assembly book & shop manuals. A portfolio is included with this car with all of the above information mentioned. The frame is solid original, no rust. The body was never removed because of its low mileage. The chassis is still mostly original! A true must see to appreciate 1970 corvette. 1970 was an unusual year for the corvette because of the low production number, only 17,316 Corvettes were built unlike 1969 where there was 38,762 built. Most of this was due to a strike so no Corvettes were built until January 1970. This was basically the last year of the high performance Vettes. Just recently put back all of the original engine components, carburetor, starter, intake manifold, distributor and alternator. The alternator and starter have both been restored and rebuilt.) |
