We recently acquired this 1979 Corvette locally. The car has been in the Springfield Missouri area for at least 20 years or more. It is a nice original body with an older repaint that still shows well and is very presentable. The body is an unhit one and the frame along with the birdcage is excellent. The Corvette is very good mechanically with a recent rebuild of the engine. The window glass is all good and the interior of this one is nice. The seats have no rips or tears and are showing just minimal wear on the dash and door panels. The carpeting looks like it has been replaced at one time and the weatherstripping is recently new. Both of the front and rear bumpers are good and are the original urethane ones. The car shows 61,500 miles and most everything is working including the a/c. The car has had a nice aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM stereo installed with Bluetooth capability and XM radio, new speakers, and a nice Rockford Fosgate AMP. The box in the rear compartment has been made to fit with the speakers and AMP but can be removed if desired.
The wipers, headlights, turn signals, back up lamps, all are in working order. The car drives out smoothly and has a nice set of Cooper Cobra white lettered tires mounted on the stock aluminum wheels that have been polished. This Corvette did come equipped with the optional P255/60R15 size of tires and that is what size is on the car now.
Included with the car is the original owners manual and sales brochure, a copy of the original dealer invoice, t-top storage bags, and some owner history of the car with title history and some service receipts. The car has recently had a new water pump installed as well.

Stated by the owner of many years per a phone conversation the Corvette has had completed as follows:
The engine was rebuilt by a top mechanic in the area bored .30 over, 350 hp GM cam, new high output oil pump, new ring gear and HD starter, cylinder heads planned with new rods and pistons, Ozark Chevrolet did all new gaskets, valve cover, oil pan, and rear main seal gaskets. The brake work was completed as well at that time. All of this work was done within the last three to four years.
This car does have a nice true-dual aluminized exhaust system that does make the sound better than stock. This car was not fully modified, just restored over time and just some more performance than stock but nothing radical. It can be driven and enjoyed with no overheating problems. The previous owners drove the car to car shows local and from a distance and if things occurred that needed to be addressed they were. It is still a 44 year old car but from what I have seen and knowing the previous owner the car is one to get out and drive with little to no issues.

INTERESTING 1979 FACTS:
The new "high back" seat style introduced in the 1978 pace car replicas was made standard equipment in 1979. Extensive use of plastic in the frame structure resulted in weight reduction of about twelve pounds per seat. The new seats had better side bolster support, and the backs folded at a higher point to permit easier rear storage access. Inertia locking mechanisms restrained the backs in sudden deceleration, negating the need for manual locks. Driver and passenger seat tracks were redesigned for an additional inch of forward travel.
The 1979 fuel filler pipe was redesigned to make it more difficult to modify for leaded-fuel access.
Output for both the base L48 and the optional L82 engines increased by 5hp due to a new "open flow" muffler design. Also, the L82's low restriction, dual-snorkel air intake to base engine added another 5hp.
This was the last year to see the 140 MPH speedometer as the 85 MPH speedometer was phased into late 1979 production.
