This motorcycle is documented with the original bill of sale, original owners manual and some interesting literature with the bike. This was the first year for the Fatboy and there is an interesting story behind these bikes! Many people will say that this motorcycle was designed to represent the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan at the end of world war II? You can decide. Here are some interesting facts!
- The “Fatboy” is silver, just like the Enola Gay and Bock's car, the two B-29's used to drop atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
- The bike has disc wheels which look similar to the type used on airplanes such as the B-29.
- Seven gold rings can be found on the motorcycle. The same markings that were allegedly present on the two atomic bombs.
- The name “Fatboy” was supposedly formed from the nicknames “Fatman” and “Little Boy”. The designations given to the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan.
- Shotgun style exhaust system.
Is all of this just coincidence? Japanese motorcycle companies sold more bikes in the 70’s and 80’s then Good Ol American Harley Davidson bikes. This would be a good answer to a comeback.
