Documented with owner history since new. The mileage is actual at 36,407 and also documented with the odometer statements and title history. The original letter from a retired G.M. Engineer verifying that the car was a proving grounds test vehicle and driven by Zora Duntov! The original proving grounds sticker is still on the rear window. Recent professional repaint in Monza Red by Redline Finishes. The body was stripped of its original paint and photos were taken of its unhit perfect original body. The paint job alone was over $13,000 two years ago. Most of the mechanics were rebuilt, including a-arm bushings, transmission, engine, etc. The engine pictures show a different intake manifold and carburetor; however we still have those parts including the original alternator, distributor and air cleaner. The car does have a complete spare, jack, owners manual, assembly book & shop manuals. A portfolio is included with this car with all of the above information mentioned. The frame is solid original, no rust. The body was never removed because of its low mileage. The chassis is still mostly original! A true must see to appreciate 1970 corvette.
1970 was an unusual year for the corvette because of the low production number, only 17,316 Corvettes were built unlike 1969 where there was 38,762 built. Most of this was due to a strike so no Corvettes were built until January 1970. This was basically the last year of the high performance Vettes.
