This 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is finished in Magnetic Red Metallic Paint with Black leather interior and matching black cloth canvas soft top. This was an optional color that cost an additional $600 back then. This was a popular color and when the sunlight hits the finish just right it is simply stunning! This Corvette is equipped with the 5.7L LS1 all aluminum V8 producing 350 H.P. and matched to an automatic transmission with overdrive. This Corvette was ordered with every option that I could tell including the F45 Selective Real Time Damping Suspension. The overall condition is clean and has been garage kept. It does have a clean AutoCheck Vehicle History Report showing no accidents or damage ever reported. The mileage on the car is low showing only 49,589 miles.
The exterior paint and window glass is still in very good condition. The soft top still shows well and has no real flaws in it. The factory aluminum wheels are also in nice condition with newer Falken tires that have plenty of tread depth and look new.
The interior has not been smoked in and still shows well with minimal wear. The leather on the seats, steering wheel, dash, and door panels all look nice with no tears or real wear. This is one of those Corvettes that presents itself well but is one that you can get in and drive as these are very dependable models and they can get great gas mileage on the highway. The C5 Generation when launched in 1997 was a game changer for the Corvette buyer. It had a trunk for the first time since 1962 to accommodate for storage space and the transmission was a rear transaxle setup so that there was much more leg room for the driver and passenger. The car was much easier to enter and exit and the wheelbase was longer and the width was wider. The rear wheels went to an 18-inch diameter while the fronts stayed the same as the previous generation to a 17-inch diameter. The engine was all aluminum where the previous generation was a cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads and the horsepower was bumped to 350 from the previous generation at 300 hp from 1992 through 1996. The car road and drove like no other previous Corvette and the convertible top went down with ease. The ignition switch went back to the dash from the steering column and the emergency brake handle went up into the console where in the past C4 models it was down by the drivers side seat.

The 1SB package includes sport bucket seats with lumbar support and the Corvette logo embroidered into the seats, 6-way passenger power seat, electronic dual-zone air conditioning, fog lamps, memory package, twilight sentinel and electrochromic mirrors.
This Corvette also included the 1SC group which included a head-up display and a power telescoping steering column with manual tilt.

The F45 optional Real Time Damping Suspension automatically adjusts shock absorber stiffness based on driving conditions. It does this by using a control module and sensors to change the viscosity of a special fluid in the shock absorbers, providing a more comfortable ride or firmer handling when needed.
